Task 5: Conduct Risk Assessment

Documenting Risk Assessment

The risk assessment process produces the quantity of information that varies considerably based on the community size, total hazards, total jurisdictions involved, technical skills, available data etc. While the risk assessment process should be expressed as part of the planning process, certain data inputs and outputs may not be included in the plan document’s main body. Certain information could be documented in appendices, whereas some may be incorporated and updated as part of the GIS program of your community, or record keeping. The documented information must concentrate on communicating the findings and assessments to a non-technical audience including community members, policy-makers, and planners.
