Pranjali Rai

Pranjali Rai, AICP is a Doctoral Candidate associated with the Institute of Hazard Mitigation Planning and Research at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on developing resilience to climate change impacts in small cities and towns of US. She completed her dual-masters in community planning and architecture from the University of Maryland in 2016. She is also a licensed architect in India. She has consulted on multiple neighborhood-scale planning and design projects in the US and India in different capacities. In recent years, she worked on several waterfront development plans, which drew her to issues related to long-term resilience to climate change impacts. Eventually, she hopes that her work will help local jurisdictions to effectively plan for current and future risks to their community.
